Meilyn performed professionally from 2006 to 2024 at: Weddings, celebrations, cultural events, Nevruz, New Years Eve, Samhain, Nowruz. Corporate, the WI, trade shows, exhibitions, fairs. Fayres, fundraisers, festivals, LARP, conventions, Comic Con. Stage performances, cabarets, galas, theatre. Carnavale, circus, various themed events. Film, music video, photography.

She began teaching in 2008 until 2024.

Bellydance

Exquisite performer in Turkish and Egyptian Oriental (“Oryantal”) Bellydance and Fusion Bellydance styles, Meilyn’s mystique will charm, entrall and mesmerise your guests. A master of her craft, Meilyn performs Roman Havası, Baladi, folkloric Saidi cane ‘assaya’ dance, modern and vintage, Türk Sanat Müziği and more. Troupe and solo performances available.

Fan Veils

Whether fan veils dance or bellydance with fan veils, this art form will wow and delight your audience. Meilyn is a silken sorceress and performs fan veils solo and with her troupe, Lola Hips. May be matched to many themes, the possibilities are endless. Book this unique entertainment for your cherished guests.

Group performances for larger events! Lola Hips is Meilyn’s amatuer bellydance troupe and we perform Turkish, Egyptian and Turkish Romani bellydance, plus Fusion bellydance. Lola Hips have have performed at international bellydance festival across the UK.

Commissioned choreographies for professional troupes, business launches, amateur groups and student societies. Meilyn taught newcomers, professionals, soloists, troupes and has been resident instructor for Leeds University Union Belly Dance Society (LUU BDS) since 2008 to 2024.

Just for fun

Taster workshops, corporate energisers, team building, hen/ mehndi parties, ice-breakers, wellbeing, WI (Women’s Institute), cultural events, ladies only parties, women’s refuges and more – Meilyn taught workshops to newcomers, who could try out bellydance and shimmy in a coinbelt!

Meilyn

Meilyn is based in Leeds, UK. She specialises in Turkish, Egyptian and Fusion Bellydance styles, including the art of Fan Veils Dance. She holds a masters degree in Philosophy of Religion from Leeds University. Meilyn is resident instructor at Leeds University Union for the LUU Belly Dance Society.
